INS ‘Jamuna’ arrived at port of Colombo
The Indian Navy Ship (INS) ‘Jamuna’ arrived at the port of Colombo today (06th February 2020) and she was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.
The ship is scheduled to undertake a hydrographic survey from Colombo to Galle. Meanwhile, a group of officers headed by Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain HA Hardas called on Chief Hydrographer of SLN , Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody at Chief Hydrographers’ office in Crow Island. They held a cordial discussion on several matters of bilateral importance and exchanged mementoes to mark the significance of this occasion.
The hydrographic survey ship ‘Jamuna’ is 86m in length and has a displacement of 1920 tons. She will remain in the island until 03rd April 2020, while engaging in hydrographic survey activities.
