INS ‘Jamuna’ arrived at port of Colombo

The Indian Navy Ship (INS) ‘Jamuna’ arrived at the port of Colombo today (06^th February 2020) and she was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.

The ship is scheduled to undertake a hydrographic survey from Colombo to Galle. Meanwhile, a group of officers headed by Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain HA Hardas called on Chief Hydrographer of SLN , Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody at Chief Hydrographers’ office in Crow Island. They held a cordial discussion on several matters of bilateral importance and exchanged mementoes to mark the significance of this occasion.

The hydrographic survey ship ‘Jamuna’ is 86m in length and has a displacement of 1920 tons. She will remain in the island until 03^rd April 2020, while engaging in hydrographic survey activities.
