Navy holds about 04kg of Kerala cannabis

The Navy held about 04kg of Kerala cannabis, during a search conducted at Kusumanthurai area in Jaffna, on 05^th February 2020.

The Navy which conducts regular anti-drug operations across the island to wage its war on drug smuggling, carried out a search operation in Kusumanthurai area today and spotted a suspicious parcel hidden in a shrubbery area. During further search, approximately 04kg of Kerala cannabis contained in the parcel was found and it was taken into naval custody.

The recovered stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to Police STF-Jaffna for onward investigation.
