Navy holds illegal earth scaner at Upparu area

Navy apprehended an illegal earth scaner with 8 suspects during a search conducted at Upparu area in Kinniya on 3^rd February 2020.

While Navy's continuous operations through out the country to prevent illegal activities, 8 suspicious persons were observed by the navy in a search operation conducted at Upparu area. By further search an illegal earth scaner was found with the suspects and they were apprehended with the scaner, two vehicles and 8 mobile phonos. The suspects were identified as the residents of Beliatta,Hiramadagama, Ratnapura, Menikhinna, Welipanna, Mawathagama, Kantale and Polgolla areas aged between 31 and 57.

The suspects along with the apprehended items were handed over to Kinniya Police for further investigation .
