Rear Admiral Lalith Dissanayaka assumes duties as the Commander North Central Naval Command

Rear Admiral Lalith Dissanayaka took over the command of North Central Naval Command as its new Area Commander on 31^st January 2020. He served as the Director General Administration at the Naval Headquarters on his previous appointment.

The former Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Sudath Kurukulasooriya officially handed over the duties of the command to the new Area Commander.

The new Area Commander was welcomed to the command according a guard of honour on his arrival. After inspection of the guard, he assumed the office of the new position amidst the Buddhist rituals and blessings of the officers of the command. Later on, the new Area Commander addressed the crew including Deputy Area Commander Commodore Jayantha Gamage, Commanding Officers, Heads of Departments, senior and junior officers at the command auditorium.
