Navy rescues three Jet Ski riders fell into Lake Gregory
Sri Lanka Navy managed to rescue three persons who fell into water while riding Jet Ski at the Lake Gregory in NuwaraEliya on 26th January 2020.
These three persons had engaged in Jet Ski riding in the Lake Gregory and faced this unfortunate incident, being unable to control the speed of the watercraft. Having noticed the accident, naval personnel attached to the Navy's Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit 4RU) deployed on the lake premises had swiftly rescued the three riders fallen into water.
The rescued persons have been identified as residents of Rathnapura and NuwaraEliya areas aged 57, 24 and 21. In a bid to rescue tourists engage in recreational activities at rivers, lakes and sea, the Navy has kept rescue teams at such locations and Navy life savers have rescued number of victims, both local and foreign, in the water.
