Navy recovers explosive with 04 detonators

Few detonators used for illegal fishing were recovered by the Navy during a patrol carried out by Navy, at Walpadukuda beach area in Kokilai on 19^th January 2020.

Maritime eco system is severely damaged by the use of explosive for fishing and SL Navy conducts frequent operations to prevent these activities. Such an operation was carried out by Navy in Walpadukuda area. During the operation, 04 detonators connected with safety fuses and 73g of TNT and an unidentified explosive were recovered.

The detonators connected with safety fuses and the amount of recovered explosive have been kept in naval safety hand for further investigation.
