Navy BDU receives bomb disposal equipment
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, on 13th January 2020, took part in a simple ceremony to distribute bomb disposal equipment among Command Bomb Disposal Units. Most of these equipment had been a long felt requirement for the Navy Bomb Disposal Unit.
Under the able guidance of the Commander of the Navy, naval personnel engaging in bomb disposal duties made use of their knowledge and technical expertise to produce this equipment, saving a big sum of public money.
Among the distributed items were; Nonmagnetic Tool Kit, EOD Exploder, EOD Tripod, EOD Hook & Line Set, EOD Rake, Explosive Filling Box, Trolley Mounted Mirrors, Portable Mirrors, EOD Plodders and Rechargeable LED Torch.
The occasion was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Navy, Director Generals and a group of senior and junior officers.
