Navy Inter Command Athletic Championship successfully concludes in Trincomalee

The Inter Command Athletic Championship - 2019 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on a colourful note, on 10th and 11th January 2020. Navy athletes representing all Naval Commands put their skills to the test in track and field events over the two days of competition.

Further, Navy athletes took their skills to a new level in this competition in which both the men’s and women’s championships were won by the Western Naval Command. The runners up positions of the tournament were won by the Training Command (Men's) and the North Central Naval Command (Women’s).

The event created new hopes in Navy track and field events and its closing ceremony was attended by Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva, as the chief guest. Deputy Area Commander, senior officers and a large group of sailors were also present on this occasion.

Leading Seaman MLS Srikantha won the award for the best player of the tournament and Woman Recruit PGSM Herath was adjudged the best woman athlete.
