A person with stock of Sambar Deer flesh made ready for sale apprehended with Navy’s assistance

A person with a stock of Sambar Deer flesh made ready for sale was apprehended during a search conducted by Navy in coordination with Police, in Akkaraipattu area on 8^th January 2020.

Navy has been conducting regular operations to nab the illegal activists and such operation was carried out in Akkaraipattu area. During the operation 12kg of Sambar Deer flesh which was made ready for sale, was recovered. Further, a person who engaged in this illegal act was apprehended and he was identified as 26 year old resident of Aligambay area in Akkaripattu.

Further investigation on the suspect and the stock of Sambar Deer flesh is carried out by Akkaripattu Police. Navy keeps vigilant eye on this type of illegal acts committed by handful of people who hunt these innocent animals which make the environment beautiful.
