Navy provides diving assistance to clear-out mud collected at sluice gate of Thammannawakulam Tank

The Navy, on 04^th January 2020, extended diving assistance to clear-out mud collected in the water inlet at the sluice gate of Thammannawakulama Tank in Medawachchiya.

The sluice gate of the Thammannawakulama Irrigation Tank was out of order for a considerable time period due to mud accumulation resulted by heavy rain falls, over the last few weeks.

The Navy divers, who engaged in this strenuous task, removed thick mud layers which had been accumulated on sluice’s water inlet. As a result of the diving operation conducted by SLN divers, mud accumulated at the sluice gate of Thammannawakulam Tank was cleared – out and the sluice was made operational yet again.
