Another beach cleaning programme conducted by Navy

Another beach clean-up drive of the Sri Lanka Navy, mooted in view of conservation of panoramic beaches of the island, was successfully carried out at several beaches in the Southern Naval area today (4th January 2020).

Accordingly, this timely initiative was launched at the Galle Face, Dewata beach in Galle, Paravi Wella beach in Tangalle and Indivinna beach. Naval personnel managed to clean these beaches collecting heaps of plastic, polythene and garbage scattered over these areas.

It is the responsibility of the public to protect the coastal ecosystem around the island and make it free of plastic waste and the Navy is always committed to that task of conserving the coastal ecosystem for the future generation.
