Navy assists to nab two drug traffickers
Navy in coordination with Police, apprehended two persons with about 2kg of Kerala Cannabis during a raid carried out at Allappidi area in Jaffna on 30th December 2019.
In order to eradicate drug menace from the island, a joint operation was conducted by Navy in coordination with Police Narcotics Bureau, at Allappidi area in Jaffna. During the raid, this stock of KG which was hidden in a land where a house was situated, recovered. Two suspects who were at the house were apprehended and by further inquiry it was revealed that these suspects are drug dealers in the area.
The suspects are residents of the same area and both are in the age of 33. Further investigation on the suspects are conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
Navy continues with constant raids in a bid to eradicate drug menace from the island, under the guidance of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.
