Navy assists to apprehend 02 persons with heroin

The Sri Lanka Navy and Police held 02 persons with heroin in China Bay, Trincomalee on 28^th December 2019.

Accordingly, a suspicious three-wheeler which was headed to China Bay had been intercepted during an anti-drug operation conducted by the Navy and the Police. During further search, about 4g of heroin had been found in the possession of suspects who were in the three-wheeler. It was revealed that the 28 and 30 year old suspects who are residents of Trincomalee are drug dealers in the area.

Uppuweli Police is conducting further investigation in to the incident. Meanwhile the Navy remains vigilant to eradicate the drug menace from the country, through its anti-drug operations.
