Navy contributes in beach cleaning to keep the beautiful beaches free of pollution

As another step of Navy's beach cleaning campaign, several beach cleaning programmes were conducted in Northern and Southern Naval Commands on 28^th December 2019.

Accordingly, the Thampadi beach in Kayts, Jaffna, in Northern Naval Area was cleaned as part of these clean-up drives. Meanwhile, the Navy also took initiative to clean several beaches in the southern coast including the beach area towards Galle town and Paravi wella beach in Tangalle.

With the dedication of the naval personnel who took part in these programmes, the beaches, which were polluted by natural causes and human activities, were made waste-free beaches once again. The event was attended by a large number of naval personnel, government officials and residents of respective areas.
