A haul of Kerala Cannabis recovered by a Navy-Police joint operation

About 10kg of Kerala Cannabis were recovered during a raid carried out by the Navy in coordination with SL Police, at Konnayan Kudiyruppu area in Mannar in the dawn today ( 28^th December 2019).

Sri Lanka Navy which always contributes in eradicating the drug menace from the island, conducted a drug preventive operation in coordination with Police Division Vice Squad-Mannar, in Mannar area. During the raid, a suspicious motor bike which was stopped at a roadside at Konnayan Kudiyruppu area in Mannar, had been observed by the Navy and about 10kg of Kerala Cannabis which was packed in a sack was recovered by the search of the suspicious motor bike.

This haul of KG was packed as five parcels. It is suspected that the KG was transporting and due to the Naval raid the suspects had escaped. The suspicious motor bike along with the seized stock of KG was handed over to Mannar Police for further investigation.
