Navy apprehends person in possession of Kerala Cannabis

The Navy, in coordination with the Police Special Task Force (STF), held a person with 165g of Kerala Cannabis at the Parasangaswewa junction in Anuradhapura on 25^th December 2019.

Accordingly, a suspicious person was detected at the Parasangaswewa junction, during a joint search conducted by the Navy and Settikulam Police STF and this amount of Kerala Cannabis was found, in his possession. During further questioning, the suspect revealed that he was transferring cannabis for sale. Accordingly the suspect was taken into custody.

The apprehended person has been identified as a 20 year old resident of Saliyapura in Anuradhapura. The accused along with cannabis was handed over to the Parasangaswewa Police for onward investigation.
