Navy assists apprehension of 03 persons for transporting Kerala Cannabis

The Navy, in coordination with the Police, conducted a raid and apprehended 03 persons with 4g and 200mg of Kerala Cannabis in Ja-Ela area on 17^th December 2019.

A joint operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police to combat illegal activities in Sri Lanka was conducted in the Ja-Ela area. Accordingly, the Navy and the Police searched a suspicious vehicle at the roadblock in Ja-Ela area and found the quantity of Kerala Cannabis in the possession of suspects travelling in the vehicle. Subsequently, the suspects were taken into custody, along with the vehicle.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Negombo and Kochchikade areas. The Pamunugama Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
