Commander of the Navy declares open naval hospital building at SLNS Nipuna

The newly constructed building of Naval Hospital (South) at SLNS Nipuna was declared open by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva on 16th December 2019.

The two-storeyed-building was constructed utilizing naval manpower and it features an Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU), operation theatre, X-ray unit, dispensary, cardiology unit, physiotherapy unit and a dental unit. The new facility will be open for naval personnel, their family members, ex-servicemen, their family members and civil staff members working in the Navy.

Director General Health Services, Commander Southern Naval Area, Heads of Departments attached to the Southern Naval Area, senior officers attached to the Naval Headquarters and Southern Naval Command and a large number of sailors were present on this occasion.
