Captain Prabath Rathugamage takes over command of SLNS ‘Samudura’

Captain (C) Prabath Rathugamage assumed duties as the new Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessel, SLNS ‘Samudura’ on 10th December 2019.

The command of the ship was officially handed over to the new Commanding Officer by the former Commanding Officer, Captain (G) Damian Fernando at the New Jetty of the Galle Harbour. The outgoing Commanding Officer was also accorded a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions.

Subsequently, a Guard of Honour was accorded to the incoming Commanding Officer as well. Addressing the crew of the ship, Captain Rathugamage underlined the importance of upholding good conduct and discipline as naval personnel.

Deputy Area Commander Southern Naval Command, Commodore Aruna Danapala was also present on this occasion.
