SLNS ‘Suranimila’ and SLNS ‘Nandimithra’ mark their 19^th anniversary

The 02 Fast Missile Vessels (FMVs) of the Sri Lanka Navy, SLNS ‘Suranimila’ and SLNS ‘Nandimithra’ celebrated their 19^th anniversary on 09^th December 2019.

Under the directives of Commanding Officers; Captain (H) Sanjeewa Premerathna of SLNS ‘Suranimila’ and Captain (C) Buddhika Liyanagamage of SLNS ‘Nandimithra’ a wide range of events have been organized in view of the anniversaries. Accordingly, the respective Commanding Officers inspected divisions in the morning and addressed their crew members.

Subsequently, the Commanding Officers, officers and sailors of the ships also marked this special day by partaking the traditional meal known as ‘Barakana’.

SLNS ‘Suranimila’ and SLNS ‘Nandimithra’ acquired from Israel, joined the Sri Lanka Navy fleet on 22^nd August and 02^nd July in year 2000 respectively and the duo of ships were commissions on 09^th December 2000.
