123 kg of Beedi leaves recovered during a Naval raid

123kg of Beedi leaves has been recovered during raids conducted by Sri Lanka Navy across the coastal belt of Illuppukadawai area on 06^th December.

The raid which was a part of a string of coastal raids carried out by the Navy, recovered 02 parcels hidden beyond the coastal line of Illuppukadawai, and upon inspection, discovered the amount of Beedi leaves. The content has been handed over to customs office-Jaffna for further investigations.

During the raids carried out by Sri Lanka Navy throughout the past months, a number of Beedi leaf smugglers have been apprehended and handed over to the authorities and the Navy continues its efforts in to foiling the attempts of smuggling across the sea and coastal areas around the island.
