Navy assists to apprehend illegal drug seller

In a joint effort by Sri Lanka Navy and Police, an illegal drug seller was apprehended during a raid carried out in Trincomalee area, on 05^th December 2019.

Keeping with Sri Lanka Navy’s initiatives to eradicate the drug menace from Sri Lanka, special raids were carried out across Trincomalee area in collaboration with the Police Special Task Force – Sardhapura. During the raid, a shop was inspected where a hidden stash of 257 Madanamodaka drugs were discovered and apprehended along with the shop’s owner.

The suspect, aged 23 has been identified as a resident of Muthur. The recovered amount of Madanamodaka drugs and the suspect have been handed over to Excise Department of Trincomalee for further investigations.
