Navy removes toppled tree in Poonewa and relieves traffic congestion on A-9 road

Naval personnel removed a tree toppled on to the main road due to heavy winds in Poonewa, Madawachchiya on the 05^th December.

Due to heavy winds and continuous rainfall, a tree had fallen on to the Kandy-Jaffna (A-9) road in Poonewa area, resulting in a congestion of traffic. Naval personnel from the naval establishment ‘SLNS Pandukabhaya’ based in Poonewa, were swift in their action in removing the tree and restoring normalcy on the A-9 road.

The Navy remains vigilant to extend its relief efforts in such incidents across the country.
