Person arrested with in possession of illegal spear guns

In a joint operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on the 05^th December in the Colombo area, a suspect was arrested in possession of 04 spear guns illegally.

The spear guns had been discovered, hidden in a retail shop by the suspect for resale purposes, directly breaching the regulations of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The suspect, aged 53 is a resident of Colombo 12, along with the guns has been handed over to the Fisheries Department in Colombo for further investigations.
