High level delegation of Russian Ministry of Defence visits the Eastern naval Command

A high level delegation of the Russian Ministry of Defence visited the Eastern Naval Command as a part of their official visit to Sri Lanka.

During the visit, the delegation, headed by Major General Andrei Ilinykh, Commandant of Yaroslavl Military School of Air Defence, met with the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe and carried out a bilateral discussion and exchange of views followed by an exchange of mementos.

Afterwards, a program on counter terrorism operations carried out by the Russian Military was conducted to Sri Lanka Navy personnel by Major General Andrei Ilinykh at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium, which was attended by the Heads of Departments of the Command and a large number of naval personnel.
