The contribution of Sri Lanka Navy to the ‘national dengue control campaign’

Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to the Dengue control campaigns jointly organized by the National Dengue Control unit with Presidential Task Force for Dengue Control from 02nd to 04th December.

Under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, many naval personnel from naval commands pertaining to Colombo, Gampaha, Jaffna, Mathale, batticaloa and Kalmunei areas took part in these campains which are an initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Defense along with the Ministry of Health.

In addition to naval personnel regularly participating in such campaigns across the country, Dengue prevention campaigns were also carried out within most naval premises in an effort to prevent a future epidemic of Dengue within the country.

Sri Lanka Navy intends on contributing to this matter of national importance in the future with equal enthusiasm.
