Sri Lanka Navy renders assistance to people affected by adverse weather conditions

Sri Lanka Navy is currently carrying out rescue and relief operations across the nation, affected by the adverse weather conditions, under the guidance of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.

Special relief teams have been stood by in every naval command, covering the whole country, and many such teams have already been deployed to affected areas by the Navy. Personnel from the Navy’s Diving Unit, Special Boat Squadron, Rapid Response Rescue Relief Unit and Navy Marines have been deployed for the flood relief duties.

161 men, 120 women and 24 children from Kiraan area who were displaced by the weather conditions have been brought to safety by the teams deployed by Navy and these teams continue to provide relief aid to people across the country despite the harsh weather conditions.
