Navy apprehends 02 persons at highway entrance of Hambantota for illegally transporting iron

The Navy, on 27^th November 2019, apprehended 02 persons at the highway entrance of Hambantota, for illegally transporting iron.

During a foot patrol conducted at the highway entrance of Hambantota, the Navy found 55kg of iron while searching a suspicious small lorry and a motorbike. The two suspects along with the vehicles were apprehended subsequently by the Navy.

The accused has been identified as residents of Hambantota, aged 20 and 27. The suspects together with the vehicles and iron were handed over to the Hambantota Police for onward action.
