In view of celebrating the 37th anniversary of SLNS Parakrama, which falls on forthcoming 9^th December, a number of religious and social welfare activities have been organized by the crew of the ship under the directives of the Commanding Officer Captain Mahesh De Silva.

"One million trees for unity" programme mooted by Alliance Finance Ltd. launched a tree planting programme in Jaffna on 22^nd November 2019. Sri Lanka Navy assisted in this effort.

Sri Lanka Navy, which boasts of a proud history will be celebrating her 69^th anniversary on 9th December and the Joint Christian Commemoration and Thanksgiving Service in view of the anniversary was held at the St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo on 22^nd November 2019.

One hundred (100) senior sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy were granted interest free loan facility of five hundred thousand rupees (Rs.500,000/=) each, by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters, on 22^nd November 2019.
