‍Navy recovers a haul of banned nets

Navy in coordination with Fisheries Inspection office and SL Police recovered a haul of banned nets during a raid carried out at Madithaweli area in Jaffna on 20^th November 2019.

Accordingly, this haul of unauthorized fishing nets were recovered during a raid carried out at Madithaweli area in Jaffna by Northern Naval Command in coordination with Fisheries Inspection office and Police STF-Jaffna. It is suspected that this haul of nets has been abandoned with the intention of collecting it later.

The arrested unauthorized nets were handed over to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Jaffna for onward action.
