Major General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) takes office as new Secretary Defence

Major General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) took office as the new Secretary Defence amidst the chanting of Seth Pirith by Maha Sangha at the Ministry of Defence today (20^th November 2019).

This occasion was also attended by Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Commanders of the Army and Air Force, Acting Inspector General of Police, Director General of the Civil Security Department and officials attached to the ministry.
