Navy holds two persons engaged in illegal fishing

Two (02) persons who engaged in illegal fishing at Ilanthattunu point area in Trincomalee, were apprehended by Navy, on 19^th November 2019.

Accordingly, a suspicious dinghy had been observed during a raid conducted at Ilanthattunu point area in Trincomalee by Eastern Naval Command and by searching the dinghy these suspects who engaged in illegal fishing using unauthorized electric lights, were apprehended. Navy also seized a dinghy, an OBM, a generator and five bulbs. The suspects are residents of Punnayadi area in the ages of 35 and 48.

Apprehended persons along with the dinghy, OBM, generator, bulbs and other fishing gears were handed over to the office of the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Trincomalee.
