Awareness programme on drug prevention held for Naval personnel

A series of awareness programmes on drug prevention for the Naval personnel has been organized as per a concept of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.

Accordingly, an awareness programmes on drug prevention was held at SLNS Barana on 14^th November 2019, with the participation of naval personnel from all naval establishments in Northwestern Naval Command. Drug Education and Information Officer of National Dangerous Drugs Control Board Mr. Chamara Pradeep Karunarathna conducted the session and large number of Naval personnel participated in the programme.

In view of keeping the naval personnel aware of the drug addiction which has become a major social problem and how to prevent from this addiction, this programme is organized and the bad effects of smoking and usage of alcohol and the social, economical, personnel crisis followed by those addictions were discussed during the session.
