Passing out of 37 Naval Artificers of the 16th Artificer Intake
Thirty Seven (37) naval artificer apprentices belonging to the 16th artificer intake of the Sri Lanka Navy passed out at the parade ground of the Naval Institute of Technology at SLNS Thakshila located in Welisara yesterday (13th November), after the successful completion of their basic training. Director General Personnel Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony also saw the sailors, who were outstanding in various spheres during their basic training, were awarded for their exceptional skills and commitment. Accordingly, Artificer MWA Heshan won the award for the “Best Sportsman” and Artificer KATH Jayakody received the award for the “Best Marksman”. Meanwhile Artificer DH Prabudda was adjudged the “Best Artificer Apprentice” of the 16th Artificer Intake.
The passing out ceremony which also included colourful cultural performances were eye-catching event for all. Senior and junior officers of NHQ and Western Naval Command, sailors and family members of the passed out artificers were present on the occasion.
