Latest ‘Sewabhimani Padakkama’ & ‘Sewa Padakkama’ awarded by HE the President

In recognition of the post-war roles of the tri-force and Police personnel as well as civil staff employees, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the President His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena awarded the new ‘Sewabhimani Padakkama’ and ‘Sewa Padakkama’, during a ceremony held at the new Army Headquarters in Akuregoda today (08^th November).

During this formal ceremony, His Excellency the President pinned these two medals on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and a group of naval personnel who participated in the event.

The occasion was also attended by State Minister of Defence, Hon Ruwan Wijewardene, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General (Rtd) Shantha Kottegoda, Commanders of the Army and Air Force, Acting Inspector General of Police and members of tri-services.
