Navy apprehends a person with 38 banned nets

SL Navy apprehended a person with 38 banned nets during a raid carried out in Jaffna area in coordination with Police STF-Jaffna, on 7^th November 2019.

Accordingly, these unauthorized Nylon fishing nets which were made ready for sale at a fishing gear retail shop in Jaffna town were taken into Naval custody with its owner.

The suspect is a resident of Jaffna area aged 62. Apprehended person along with the unauthorized nets were handed over to the Director of Fisheries, Jaffna for onward legal action.
