Navy apprehends two persons with 122kg of Kerala cannabis

Navy apprehended two persons with 122kg of Kerala Cannabis, during a raid carried out at Saukkadi area in Madagal, in the dawn today(2^nd November 2019).

Accordingly, a suspicious lorry had been observed during a raid carried out by Northern Naval Command and by further search this haul of KG was recovered inside the lorry and it pretended that the lorry was transporting bottles of soft drinks.

Subsequently, the lorry with the two suspects were apprehended.The suspects are residents of Kinniya and Wishwamadu areas aged 19 and 26. They along with the lorry and haul of KG were handed over to Police Narcotics Bereau-Jaffna for onward legal action.

Even up to date in this year, Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended more than 3200 kg of KG and Navy continues with further raids in the effort of eliminating the drug menace over the island.
