Another Naval operation in drug prevention
Naval personnel in coordination with officials of Police STF held a person with a haul of aphrodisiac pills (Madanamodaka), during a raid carried out at Rabewa area in Medawachchiya, on 01st November 2019.
Accordingly, North Central Naval Command in coordination with officials of Police STF in Settikulam apprehended this person with 40 packets of aphrodisiac pills which were packed in a parcel. By further inquiry, the suspect was identified as a drug dealer in the area and this haul of drugs were carrying for sale. The suspects is a residents of Anuradhapura area in aged 65. The haul of drugs along with the suspect were handed over to Madawachchiya Police for further investigation.
In line with the combined drug prevention programme established by His Excellency the President Maithiripala Sirisena, Sri Lanka Navy, under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, is conducting raids to hold drug racketeers, with the noble intention of creating a drug free country.
