Drug peddler with Kerala cannabis held by Navy

The Navy nabbed a person with 25.9kg of Kerala cannabis in Chundikulam on 30^th October 2019.

Whilst on patrol, the Northern Naval Command had intercepted a suspicious vessel in the seas off Chundikulam and interrogated the person on the vessel. Based on his information, the Navy managed to find 12 packages which contained 25.9kg of Kerala cannabis, from a thicket in Chundikulam region. It is believed that the consignment might have been smuggled to the island via sea.

Further investigation also revealed that the suspect is a person who is peddling Kerala cannabis. The suspect along with the vessel and cannabis was handed over to the Palai Police for onward investigation.
