Ten Reverse Osmosis plants declared open

Several projects being implemented in view of preventing chronic kidney disease and to provide welfare facilities for patients, were declared open by HE the President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat through the Remote Communication Technology, on 29^th October 2019.

As per a concept of His Excellency the President Mithreepala Sirisena to provide clean drinking water to the people who suffer from chronic kidney disease, Sri Lanka Navy has installed large number of RO plants in number of districts with the financial assistance of Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease and the donors.

Accordingly, 10 RO plants established at Mihintale, Padaviya, Palagala, Thirappane Divisional secretariats in Anuradhapura district, at Anamaduwa and Mahakubukkadawala Divisional secretariats in Puttalam district, at Boyagane GS division in Kurunegala district, at Akuressa Divisional Secretariat in Matara district and at Gangawata Korale Divisional Secretariat in Kandy were vested upon the public use by HE the President.

Meanwhile, at this event, in appreciation of the service rendered by the Navy for the people suffering from chronic kidney disease, SL Navy’s Reverse Osmosis Plant Project was presented an award of recognition by HE the President Maithripala Sirisena and it was received by Director Naval Research and Development Captain Lasith Gunasekara.

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, senior officials of Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease were also present on this occasion.
