Discussion on ‘Exercise SPEAR’ held in Southern Naval Command
A preliminary discussion between the United Kingdom Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) and Sri Lanka Navy on ‘Exercise SPEAR’ held at the Southern Naval Command Auditorium on 28th October 2019.
The discussion was headed by Deputy Area Commander (South), Commodore Aruna Danapala and it was attended by a JFHQ delegation, led by Wing Commander Barratt.
The discussion focused on the capabilities and availability of resources of the Southern Naval Command in conducting the ‘Exercise SPEAR’ which aims to increase competencies in the event of a crisis.
Representing the Sri Lanka Navy, a group of senior officers also took part in the discussion. On conclusion of the cordial meeting, the JFHQ delegates made a visit to the Galle harbour as well.
