Awareness programme on Diving Medicine and Diving Techniques held in Dehiwala

An awareness programme on Diving Medicine and Diving Techniques was held in Dehiwala today (28^th October 2019). The President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine, Surgeon Rear Admiral Senarupa Jayawardana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

This programme was conducted by the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) in collaboration with the Diving Unit and Medical Branch of the Sri Lanka Navy. Over 150 commercial divers from the island’s western coast attended this event and benefited from the programme.

Specialists in Diving Medicine attached to the Navy’s Medical Branch and diving experts from the Diving Unit delivered valuable lectures on relevant topics such as “Safe Diving Techniques”, “Diving Related Illnesses”, and “Basic First Aid”. The attendees were very eager to learn from the experts in the field and keen to be engaged in practical sessions on basic life-saving etc.
