Another project of “Neela Haritha Sangramaya” comes to fruition in Northern Naval Command

Another project of the Neela Haritha Sangramaya – a visionary concept of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva came to fruition in the Northern Naval Command today (25^th October 2019).

Accordingly, a number of Jack, Mango and Talisay saplings were planted at SLNS Uththara in the Northern Naval Command. The occasion was attended by Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera, Deputy Area Commander, Heads of Departments, Commanding Officer SLNS Uththara and a host of naval personnel.

Meanwhile, the Area Commander also distributed 05 push bicycles among naval personnel on this occasion. The purpose of this distribution is to increase the health benefits gained from regular cycling and its positive impact on the environment.
