Australian Deputy High Commissioner and a delegation visit Southern Naval Command

Australian Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Victoria Coakley and a delegation visited the Naval Deployment Hambanthota in Southern Naval Command on 23^rd October 2019.

Accordingly, Australian delegation was received by Naval Officer in Charge (Hambanthota) Commodore Asoka Wijesiriwardena and they held a cordial discussion. A briefing on the security of Hambanthota International harbour and the role of the Navy was conducted for the delegation, by Commodore Asoka Wijesiriwardena.

Senior Research Fellow, Australian National Security College Mr.David Brewter and Official in the International Policy Division of the Australian Department of Defence Mrs. Erika Kulley were also present on this occasion and mementos were exchanged to mark the event.
