Number of bilateral talks between Commander of the Navy and foreign military heads
Several foreign military heads who arrived in Sri Lanka to participate in the Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference 2019 organized by the Sri Lanka Navy for the 10th consecutive year, commenced at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, yesterday (21st October).
Accordingly, high ranking defence officials from Canada, China, the United Kingdom, India, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Sudan, USA, Italy, France and the Netherlands held discussions with the Sri Lanka Navy Chief. The cordial discussions focused on wide ranging matters including the bilateral ties among the navies, strengthening of their camaraderie and further enhancing of maritime security.
The visiting foreign delegates expressed their appreciation to the Commander of the Navy for organizing an International Maritime Conference of this magnitude to engage in fruitful discussion while strengthening the goodwill among friendly navies. Mementoes were also exchanged on these occasions as tokens of appreciation.
