27.85kg of beedi leaves found by Navy

The Navy, during a foot patrol in Keerikuda beach area on 20^th October 2019, found 27.85kg of Beedi leaves.

While conducting a foot patrol in the beach area of Keerikuda fishing hamlet, the North Central Naval Command has found this haul of beedi leaves which were in 03 packages. The recovered beedi leaves were subsequently set on fire under the supervision of the Navy.

Further, the Navy managed to recover over 42,000kg of beedi leaves thus far in year 2019 and it is conducting continuous operations to curb this kind of illegal activities.
