Ten lobsters caught in fishing nets released by Navy

The Navy released 10 lobsters that were caught up in fishing nets in the sea area off Kumbukkanoya today (19th October).

The Southeastern Naval Command, whilst on a patrol in the sea area off Kumbukkanoya found 10 lobsters that were caught up in 05 fishing nets. Accordingly, these marine crustaceans that were carrying fertilized eggs were untangled from the nets and released back to the ocean.

The fishing nets in which the lobsters got entangled were seized and are kept in the naval custody.
