Navy finds 70kg of fish caught using explosive

SL Navy found 70kg of fish which were caught by using explosive in Sinnaweli area, Trincomalee on ( 14^th October 2019.).

Accordingly, a suspicious dingy was observed during a foot patrol conducted by Eastern Naval Command in Sinnaweli beach area, Trincomalee and by further search this illegally caught fish catch was found in dingy. The dinghy, an OBM, the fish stock and other fishing gears were taken into Naval custody and subsequently handed over to the office of the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Trincomalee for further action.

It is believed that the suspects of this fish catch have abandoned it and escaped due to the operations conducted by the Navy in search of illegal activists.
