Navy and Police conduct special operation to crack down on drug traffickers in Puttalam

The Navy and Police conducted a special operation to crack down on 07 drug traffickers at Karamba in Puttalam on 12^th October 2019.

Accordingly, the Northwestern Naval Command in coordination with the Norochcholai Police conducted this joint raid in which they held 07 suspects for possessing and peddling drugs. There were 79g of Kerala cannabis and 294.12mg of ‘ice’ drug in their possession, when the apprehension was made. A motorbike belonging to a suspect was also seized.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Palavi, Puttalam and Kalladi, from 28 to 56 years of age. The Norochcholai Police is conducting further investigation with regard to the suspects and seized items.
