Five persons held with 1050kg of beedi leaves in Talaimannar seas

During a search carried out in seas south of Talaimannar today (05^th October), the Navy held 05 persons with 1050kg of beedi leaves.

The North Central Naval Command, during a search carried out in the sea area south of Talaimannar spotted two suspected dinghies and recovered a stock of beedi leaves in 30 packages in the suspicious dinghies.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Thalpadu in Mannar, from 19 to 44 years of age. The suspects along with the stock of beedi leaves and the dinghy were handed over to the Jaffna Customs for further investigation.
